Priming Felt Sense

Priming Felt Sense is a merging of subtle body awareness and visualization in conjunction with some big, outwardly expressive movements that draw from the artful practice of yoga and authentic movement, as well as the exquisite pulsation of nature.

Students will learn the beauty of listening to the pulsation of their inner body. They will walk away with a reclaimed sense of trust in their internal processes.

This 2.5hr class will be offered once during the May Session.

Laura Prudhomme has made her love for movement and embodied awareness her life's work. Her aim as a teacher is to gently guide students toward an awakening of sensation and a celebration of being in a body. She's inspired by any practice that supports deep listening and sensitivity in the body. Her curiosity for movement has lead her down many paths of inquiry into the artistry, skill and mystery of the human form in function. She teaches embodied practices that emphasize attention to breath, sensory attunement and ease of motion.

Over the past 7 years, Laura has lead and co-facilitated a number of retreats (annually at Breitenbush Hot Springs and Cannon Beach Yoga Arts) and workshops both in Seattle and beyond. She has spent the last 9 years teaching behind bars (in prisons, jails and juvenile detention centers) and led the very first ever teacher training for incarcerated men in the United States in 2015-16. She is currently wrapping up the second teacher training with the women at Washington Corrections Center for Women in Gig Harbor. Following graduation, Laura's next big project is a trip to Amman, Jordan where she'll be co-facilitiating a workshop for Syrian Women who are seeking refuge.
